Rocking

When Joel and I went to Florida in 2006 with my parents we went to Cracker Barrel restaurant. It was the first time Joel and I had been to one. For those who may not know Cracker Barrel is a restaurant that has a old time store in it as well as a restaurant. They have rocking chairs outside of the restaurant that you can purchase or you can sit on them and just relax before or after your meal.
Ever since we went there to eat, Joel has been wanting a rocking chair from there. At the time we didn't really know where to put one if we got one so we stopped thinking about it. But this year we decided after we had done some of our spring cleaning that we had room for one, finally.
Since Joel's birthday was coming I decided to order the rocking chair as a suprise. I suprised him on his birthday by putting a picture of the chair on a DVD case and inside the case put a note when the chair would be arriving. It was fun to see his face when he found out that he was getting one. He was also relieved that he didn't end up ordering one like he was planning to do. :-)
The rocking chair arrived yesterday and it was so hard for me to wait til he came home to put it together with him. When he came home we put it together for a FHE activity.
We had to wait for the glue to dry for at least 10 hours. Joel had me promise that I wouldn't sit on it before he got home. (I patiently waited) When he came home he got to be the first one to sit on his new rocking chair!
Afterwards he let me sit on it.
I am so glad he likes his present!
